In the video: The differences between honey and sugar (Edited by Gilad Manheim)
Here are some differences between honey and white sugar that you may not be aware of, and it is important to know:
Calories -
Honey has fewer calories than white sugar.
How much less?
100 grams of sugar has 400 calories, 100 grams of honey only 320. A significant difference.
Sweetness -
1.3 times sweeter honey than white sugar.
Therefore, it is possible to actually use less honey and still produce for us the same level of sweetness we were looking for.
Composition -
White sugar consists of 100 percent sugar molecules.
Honey has only 80 percent sugar, along with 17 percent water and 3 percent compounds that include vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and propolis.
Purity -
Honey is a raw material that comes from nature.
Wait, but sugar also comes from sugar cane, no?
This is true, but the white sugar we know goes through various processes, including distillation.
Bottom line, in any sweetener you make, the use of a sweetener should be moderate and measured and using honey you enjoy many benefits.
