Recipe for sweet pumpkin bread: the ingredients

In addition to a box shape, you will need:

  • 300 g Hokkaido pumpkin

  • 3 eggs

  • 200 g of sugar

  • 125 g melted butter

  • 1 pinch of cinnamon

  • grated nutmeg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 300 grams of flour

  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder

  • 1 pinch of salt

Hokkaido pumpkin

is particularly good for baking and cooking because the peel can be eaten - so you don't have to peel it.

Instead of freshly processing the pumpkin into puree as in this recipe, you can alternatively prepare pumpkin puree in advance and use 300 grams of it.

How to bake the sweet pumpkin bread

  • Wash, cut in half and core the pumpkin.

    Cut it into as small cubes as possible.

    You can easily cut pumpkin with a trick.

  • Steam the pumpkin cubes in the microwave for about 5 minutes until tender.

    Then puree the pumpkin.

  • Preheat the oven to 175 ° C top / bottom heat.

  • Beat the eggs with the sugar until frothy, add the butter, spices and pumpkin puree.

    Sift the flour, baking powder and salt over the mixture and stir in all the ingredients.

  • Grease the loaf pan and pour the batter into it.

    Bake the pumpkin bread in the oven for 50-60 minutes.

    Towards the end, do the chopsticks test to see whether the dough is baked through.
