The title of world champion in the Tiramisù World Cup 2021 competition goes to two Italians: the winner in the 'original recipe' category of the dessert (eggs, sugar, mascarpone, ladyfingers, coffee and cocoa) is Stefano Serafini, 62, jeweler, originally from from Venice and based in Bassano del Grappa (Vicenza), while Elena Bonali wins the challenge of the 'creative recipe' with a version with ham and melon.

Bonali 52, originally from Milan, is a swimming teacher living in Brasschaat (Antwerp, Belgium).

The creative recipe offered the possibility to add up to three ingredients by replacing the biscuit.

The final of the competition took place in the orangery set up in Piazza dei Signori in Treviso.

For the original recipe, the other finalists were Elisa Orfei from Treviso, Nicola Ottaviani from Verona, who also won the Hausbrandt Prize for the best enhancement of the coffee ingredient.

For the creative recipe, Erika Luis from Udine (chocolate with yuzu, hazelnut paste), Barbara Marcon from Asolo (pistachio cream, raspberries and gold dust) reached the final.

Two hundred 'chefs' from all over the world participated in the competition, which began on 8 October with the selections.
