Covid-19 in France: 53 new deaths and more than 6,600 hospitalized patients

This Tuesday, 1,111 Covid-19 patients are being taken care of in critical care services which receive the most serious cases.


The epidemic continues to circulate at low speed in France.

According to the latest report from the health authorities, 6,629 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized in the country, against 6,729 on Monday and 7,096 last Tuesday.

Of these patients, 254 were admitted to hospital in the past 24 hours.

With 68 new entries in critical care services since Monday, 1,111 people are being cared for on Tuesday in these units reserved for the most serious cases.

They were 1145 the day before, 1279 seven days ago.

117 135 deaths in the country

Public Health France also lists 53 deaths linked to an infection with SARS-CoV-2 or its variants which have occurred in the hospital in the last 24 hours.

The total death toll from Covid-19 in France now stands at 117,135.

Globally, the pandemic has killed at least 4,853,570 since the start of the pandemic.

The United States is the most bereaved country with 714,060 deaths, followed by Brazil (601,213), India (450,963), Mexico (282,227) and Russia (218,345).
