For almost 50 years, the Eggborough power station near Leeds produced electricity for up to two million households.

The power plant was shut down in 2018.

The first four cooling towers were blown up on August 1st - last Sunday the remaining towers also had to give way.

When the chimney and the other buildings are also demolished, a gas power plant with an output of 2500 megawatts is to be built here.
