"Typica", an online platform that connects producers and roasters, will be available in Italy from 18 October.

The project, one year after its launch and founded by Ayane Yamada and Masashi Goto, aims - informs a note - "at total transparency in the distribution and direct marketing of 100% green coffee".

The online platform will allow Italian producers and roasters to directly trade coffee starting from a single unit corresponding to a bag of jute. In particular, with "Typica", the direct trade of green coffee, compared to the past, will be possible starting from 1 unit corresponding to 60kg instead of starting from 1 shipping unit corresponding to 18 tons. "The result - say the creators of the platform - allows for the creation of a community of producers and roasters, thanks to which it will be possible to transform the coffee industry into an industry in which 100% direct trade is accessible to anyone.

Specifically, the system - they specify - allows small coffee producers, especially family-run businesses, to take part in direct trade by deciding their prices without being influenced by the volatile fluctuations of the international market ". The network currently includes over 2,000 producers and roasters from 12 countries. The goal is to reach 5,000 producers in 70 countries around the world by 2025.

"Typica", with the month of October and the global expansion of its distribution, will reach 38 quota countries including the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Norway, South Korea and Taiwan and in the first year, expects to exceed 3,000 producers and roasters in 59 countries.
