(ANSA) - CAIRO, OCTOBER 12 - UNHCR confirmed that 15 migrants drowned in the shipwreck reported by Alarm Phone: "The bodies of 15 people were recovered when 2 boats arrived this evening at the Tripoli naval base", wrote in hours later the Libyan branch of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees on Twitter.
"Aid has been provided to 177 survivors", he added, specifying that "some (...) needed urgent medical assistance".
The migrants "had left Zuara and Al Khoms the night before", UNHCR also points out.
