Gérald Darmanin, the Minister of the Interior, received as planned the president of the conference of bishops of France, Mgr Eric de Moulins-Beaufort, this Tuesday at the beginning of the afternoon.
A meeting he mentioned before the National Assembly in the wake, during the questioning session to the government.
"I want to reiterate the courage of the Church of France to order this report and to make the whole truth about this story, all this dark story", first indicated Gérald Darmanin, by "thanking" his interlocutor for "de long exchanges ”.
The minister then recalled the substance of his message firmly, following the controversial remarks of the patron saint of bishops concerning the secrecy of confession: worship, that no law was superior to the laws of the National Assembly and the Senate and that no law was superior to that of the Republic.
Confession secrecy has been recognized for 200 years as professional secrecy, like that of doctors or lawyers, but it suffers from exceptions when it concerns crimes committed against children under the age of 15.
There can be no sanction [of the Church] and these must bring the facts to the justice of our country for the protection of children.
