For 18 years he investigated as special agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the series "Navy CIS": Now it has been announced that Mark Harmon will leave after the 19th season.

Steven Binder, executive producer of the series, announced this in a message on Instagram.

However: "As an executive producer and good friend, Mark is still an integral part of the series," it says there.

"So as for the future of Gibbs, longtime fans of the show may have noticed over the years that Leroy Jethro Gibbs will never give up."

The series is currently in its 19th season in the United States.

Together with Timothy McGee, Gibbs has just solved the case of a contract killer in Alaska.

He had "found his peace there," says Gibbs in the episode.

Mark Harmon has played in the series "Navy CIS" since 2003.

From the beginning he was the main actor.

Since the sixth season he has also been involved as a producer.
