The decree ending the state of health emergency in Reunion must be ratified this Wednesday in the Council of Ministers.
In July, President Emmanuel Macron justified this decision in a televised address, by the “insufficient level of vaccination” and by the “strong pressure” from the hospital.
"For nine weeks the improvement of the health situation has been confirmed on the island", indicated in a joint document the prefecture and the Regional Health Agency (ARS) of this island in the Indian Ocean.

Since September 15, the confinement in effect since July 31 had been completely lifted and the 11 p.m. curfew ended on October 4.
From October 2 to 8, 241 cases were identified, bringing the incidence rate to 28.2 per 100,000 inhabitants against 400 in July.
While the situation is therefore improving in Guyana, this is not the case in Guyana where the government plans to extend the state of health emergency until December 31, 2021.
