The musician Gil Ofarim filed a complaint after an employee of the hotel “The Westin Leipzig” allegedly attacked him with anti-Semitic attacks last week.
Investigators from the Saxon police were in Munich and had heard Ofarim, as the Leipzig police announced.
The spokesman did not give details of the ad content.
When asked by SPIEGEL, he said that he could not say which criminal offenses were involved.
Ofarim wrote on Instagram on Tuesday that he had filed a criminal complaint against the employee of the hotel "The Westin Leipzig".
In the past few days, he said everything he could say on the subject in interviews.
He hopes that after these "turbulent days" he can calm down a little.
Ofarim also wrote that he wanted to thank everyone for an unbelievable amount of very personal messages and that he was overwhelmed by the solidarity that is being shown to him and this important topic from all over the world.
There should be no place for hatred, racism, anti-Semitism, homophobia and discrimination of any kind.
Ofarim had described in a video on Instagram that a hotel employee had asked him to remove his chain with a Star of David.
Ofarim is a German rock musician, the son of the Israeli singer Abi Ofarim, who died in 2018, and his third wife Sandra.
Gil Ofarim also works as an actor and has appeared in series such as "Gute Zeiten, Bad Zeiten" or TV formats such as "Let's Dance".
The Leipzig public prosecutor's office has so far received several reports of the incident a week ago - including from the accused hotel employee.
He accuses Ofarim of defamation and, according to earlier statements by the police, describes the events in a clearly different way than the artist.
