(ANSA) - SORRENTO, OCTOBER 13 - After the commitments of the G20 delCommercio, discarding the dark suit and wearing jeans and a sweater, after dinner the Argentine Foreign Minister, Santiago Cafiero, wanted to visit the well-known Primavera pastry shop on Antonio's CorsoItalia Cafiero, his distant cousin.
"It was great, a great party. He was keen to pass by because his grandfather always talked to him about our pastry shop, and he himself had already come 20 years ago to eat ice cream", Antonio says the next day.
The pastry chef, who in view of the G20 in Sorrento had already prepared desserts inspired by the tradition of each participating country, offered the Argentine delegation a lemon delight, ("symbol of our tradition", he explains) with the words "Thank you G20". Then the hugs, the toasts: "It was very warm". He gave the minister "a cornucopia full of our traditional products", with the hope of "coming back to visit us soon".
Even if they have not been able to trace exactly the degree of kinship, "he is very fond of this family bond", continues the pastry chef, who in the past had already received a visit from the minister's grandfather, his namesake, Antonio Cafiero, historical Peronist leader and former Senator of Argentina.
The young minister, in office for less than a month, is descended from a family of politicians: his father Pablo was also an Argentine deputy and ambassador to the Holy See until 2014.
The morning after the photo of the embrace between Santiago and Antonio already flashes on the walls of the pastry shop, in the midst of those illustrious visitors, including the grandfather-senator Antonio Cafiero.
