(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, OCTOBER 13 - "We need a policy of zero impunity against anti-Semitism. We, the European Union, must lead the fight against anti-Semitism. And it is for this reason that the European Council has asked for a plan of concrete and ambitious action ". This was stated by the president of the European Council Charles Michel in his speech at the Malmo International Forum in Sweden on the memory of the Holocaust and the fight against anti-Semitism. "The European Commission has just presented a strategy to combat anti-Semitism and sustain Jewish life. Including an essential component to support education and the remembrance of the Holocaust - added Michel - The European Union is also drastically strengthening the legislation, and the means, to fight hate online,the new battleground for anti-Semitic attacks ". Michel then stressed that" our efforts must guarantee the safety of European Jews. Their safety and well-being. It is a shame that students, museum visitors or faithful should be protected by gunmen.
