Fatigue to shortness of breath: There are people who struggle with problems long after they have overcome the corona infection.
A new guide promises help.
In eight to nine out of ten people with corona infection, the disease is relatively mild. A third of those infected show no symptoms at all. But there are also people who still have complaints long after they have survived Covid. This information comes from the guideline "Long- / Post-COVID-Syndrome" for those affected, relatives, loved ones and carers.
The guidebook, which was first published in September 2021, explains in a layman's way how to recognize Long-Covid and what every person affected can do to improve the symptoms.
Various specialist societies such as the German Society for Pneumology and Respiratory Medicine, the German Society for Neurology, the German Society for Cardiology - Heart and Circulatory Research and the Charité Fatigue Center are involved in the creation.
The recommendations are based on the medical guidelines of the Working Group of the Scientific Medical Societies in Germany (AWMF), which you can view here:
