Hezbollah and Amal, the two Lebanese armed parties, claim that unidentified "snipers" were the first to open fire on demonstrators of the same Shiite movements. (HANDLE)

(ANSAMed) - BEIRUT, OCTOBER 14 - Hezbollah and Amal, the two Lebanese armed parties, say that unidentified "snipers" first opened fire on protesters from the Shiite movements themselves. In a joint statement, Hezbollah and Amal denounce the "aggression" by "organized armed groups".

According to the two Shiite parties, close to Iran and the Syrian government, "the aggression is intended to push the country purposely towards sedition on a religious basis".

The reconstruction of the armed clashes provided by the Hezbollah and Amal media points the finger at the presence of "snipers aiming at the head" of the demonstrators.

The snipers, according to Hezbollah and Amal, "were stationed on the buildings in front of" the Tayyoune roundabout, or rather on the buildings in the Ayn Remmane neighborhood, a notorious stronghold of the Maronite Christian parties, rivals of the two Shiite movements, perched instead in the adjacent Shiyah district.
