(ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 14 - A 37-year-old Dane is the author of the massacre that took place last night in Kongsberg, in the south-east of Norway.
The police reported this without however revealing the identity, writes the CNN.
Armed with a bow and arrow, the young man targeted passersby in different areas of the town, killing five people and wounding two.
The police, who intervened in force, arrested the attacker after a brief confrontation, reiterating to more than one company that he acted alone.
This morning the press conference of the investigators is expected for an update on what happened and to know the extent of the charges against the aggressor who in the meantime has been transported to the prison in the town of Drammen.
The authorities have not ruled out the hypothesis of the terrorist attack.
"From the course of events, it is natural to consider whether this is an act of terrorism," said Drammen police chief OyvindAas.
