(ANSA) - ABUJA, 14 OCT - "Abu Musab al-Barnawi, head of Isis in West Africa (Iswap), has died": a military commander of Nigeria announced today.

Iswap has not confirmed the news of the death.

"I can authoritatively confirm to you thateal-Barnawi is dead. Quite simply. He is dead and so he remains," General Lucky Irabor, head of the General Staff of Defense, told reporters, without giving details on how or when the death occurred.
