"We all miss heaven, where we were kicked out. But maybe it is God who left there, because we destroyed that heaven. If we loved the planet as much as we take care of our balconies, the world would probably be different." (HANDLE)

(by Marzia Apice) (ANSA) - TURIN, 14 OCT - "We all miss heaven, from where we were driven out. But maybe it is God who left there, because we destroyed that paradise.

If we loved the planet as much as we take care of our balconies, the world would probably be different ". Among melancholic madeleines of Proustian memory, environmentalist instances and a funny and curious mix of stories linked to great characters and unknown heroines, Serena Dandini moves in her first podcast," My paradise ", produced by Chora Media exclusively for Audible Original. Available from 15 October, the series will be presented by the author on the same day at the Turin Book Fair (3 pm, Sala Rossa) and consists of 6 episodes all dedicated to men and women who, starting from the passion or obsession for plants and gardens, have sought their own Eden on Earth: from Jeanne Baret, the first woman to circumnavigate the globe who discovered the Bougainvillea after having managed to participate (because she disguised herself as a man) in an expedition that was forbidden to women at the time, to Margaret Mee, painter, botanist and political activist who for all her life was obsessed with the moon flower, a plant that bloomed only one night a year in a single point of the Amazon rainforest, but also Agatha Christie, who in her yellows made an in-depth study of the most fatal plants in the world and Friedrich Schiller who instead succeeded to write only when surrounded by the nauseating smell of rotten apples. "The podcast is a perfect place because it is free; I walked the thread of my curiosity and following the crumbs like Thumbelino things came to me: so I found my characters",says Serena Dandini in an interview with ANSA, "I went back to explore an old love of mine, that of plants, and I added the obsession, very widespread in these times of deprivation, of places where one thinks he is happy" . Light and full-bodied at the same time, "My paradise" represented a challenge for the TV presenter and writer, "a way to get in trouble: I like to experiment, I get tired of always doing the same things and the podcast is a bit 'literature, theater, radio, all these things together ", he says," with me then there is Orsetta De Rossi, a very good actress who represents a sort of irreverent voiceover, cultured like Wikipedia but romantic ".and I added the obsession, very widespread in these times of deprivation, of places where one thinks he is happy ".     "I remember my grandmother growing hydrangeas in a house we had when I was little. She made them turn blue by putting rusty iron nails in the ground: maybe that scene is my lost paradise," she continues, "but this podcast is not meant to be a way. to close in on oneself, indeed, there is a strong ecological message, it is a way to think about the important things of reality ". Ready to return among the people in a book fair finally in attendance, Dandini defines himself as "happy to meet the public, also because last year I should have presented my novel The Führer's tub but I couldn't, and now it comes out. also the audio book which will also be in Turin ". On the possibility of returning to the places of culture and entertainment, and on the controversy of recent months, the author admits that she does not approve "the many shouted voices that claim to know more than the scientists. I believe that a path has been followed, I never wanted to put myself in the place of those who had to make the decisions ", he says," but I want to emphasize that the world of entertainment and culture that perhaps has suffered more than others has reacted, behaved well and when it protested it did so with incredible dignity and civility. For this I hope that when the funds, remember these categories of workers ". On future projects, Dandini reveals that from this podcast "a book will come, because I want to continue to follow this curiosity. And then I will be busy in Florence from 22 to 24 October for the artistic direction of L'eredità delle donne,"a festival where we don't talk about women but where women talk about everything. On the female issue, I think now the time has come for us to be positive, we have become better at asserting ourselves: and even if we still have a long way to go, nobody stops us anymore ".
