Bill Clinton is currently in intensive care because of a urinary tract infection. The former US president is apparently already doing better. According to media information, a spokesman said Clinton was in the hospital's intensive care unit. However, he is not treated intensively. The spokesman did not give a reason for his stay in the intensive care unit. Clinton had a urological infection. The have expanded to the bloodstream. But Clinton is on the mend. His condition was never life-threatening. A schedule for his release was not given.
Clinton was in good spirits and was watching TV coverage of his hospital stay, the spokesman said. Hillary Clinton visited her husband in the hospital. President Joe Biden spoke to him on the phone. "He seems to be fine, God willing," Biden said. He and President Clinton looked forward to seeing each other again soon. He wished Clinton a speedy recovery.
Clinton was admitted to the University of California Irvine Medical Center Tuesday night with a urological infection. According to consistent media information and citing treating doctors, the former president was given "intravenous antibiotics and fluids." After two days of treatment, his white blood cell count had decreased. Clinton responds well to the antibiotics, the doctors said. "We hope he can go home soon."
In the years since Clinton left the White House in 2001, the former president has struggled with health problems.
In 2004, he underwent quadruple bypass surgery after long periods of chest pain and shortness of breath.
He was hospitalized again in 2005 for surgery on a partially collapsed lung, and in 2010 he was implanted with two coronary stents.
