Deployment in Berlin: 21 arrests during the evacuation of the »Köpi« car camp

During the evacuation of the left-wing autonomous car camp "Köpi" in Berlin-Mitte, the police took dozens of residents off the premises on Friday.
By early afternoon there were 37, the police said.
The personal details were taken from them.
Nine people were still sitting on trees in the area.
A police spokeswoman spoke of 21 arrests in the course of the operation.
That includes the demonstrations around the site on Köpenicker Strasse.
Accompanied by police officers, a bailiff entered the area in the early afternoon.
She examined the property, which is to be returned to the owner.
This had obtained the eviction before the Berlin district court.
The residents had failed this week with an objection to the dismantling of the car camp that had existed for years.
The police had started the evacuation in the morning.
According to a spokeswoman, police officers had advanced to the area of the car camp with heavy equipment.
There they were pelted with bottles and stones and some were sprayed with fire extinguishers.
The officials said they used pepper spray.
