The number of emergency services in the period from October 14th to 16th was around 3,500 "around the clock". The Berlin police received support from eight federal states: Brandenburg, Bavaria, Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony, Saxony- Anhalt, Lower Saxony and Bremen.

The federal police also helped.

Interior Senator: "Destructive and does not solve a single problem"

Interior Senator Andreas Geisel (SPD) condemned the violence and riots.

"What we experienced yesterday is not a political stance, but a blind rage of destruction," he said on Saturday, according to the interior administration.

“It's destructive and doesn't solve a single problem.

The state will not give way to threats of violence.

The rule of law is a valuable asset and must always prevail. "

The Berlin SPD top candidate Franziska Giffey emphasized on the RBB information radio that violence is not a means of political conflict.

"What happens in the city when it comes to the lawful evacuation of places, that people believe that they can enforce their will with massive violence against police forces, that is not okay."
