Corruption, Gdf Catania arrests two public officials

(ANSA) - CATANIA, OCTOBER 16 - Public officials were arrested by the Guardia di Finanza of Catania for instigation to corruption in the context of the expropriation procedure for public use of land adjacent to the Sigonella military base.

A precautionary custody order in prison issued by the investigating judge was carried out against them.

Investigations, coordinated by the Catania District Prosecutor's Office, were conducted in Sicily, Puglia and Lazio.

On the operation, called 'Extra base', the prosecutor Carmelo Zuccaro will hold a press conference at 10.30 at the headquarters of the economic-financial police unit in Catania.
