In France as elsewhere in the world, the Covid-19 epidemic is declining.
The situation remains fragile, however: two outbreaks of contamination in schools were enough for Lozère to switch back to the wrong side, and reimpose the mask at school next Monday.
At the hospital, the signals are still encouraging.
According to the latest report from Public Health France, 6,437
Covid-19 patients are hospitalized in the country this Saturday, against 6,706 last Saturday.
Of these patients, 109 were admitted to hospital in the past 24 hours.
The fall of patients with severe forms is spectacular: with 25 new entries in critical care services, 1,076 people are being cared for this Friday in these units reserved for the most severe cases.
They were 1,051 the day before, 1,127 seven days ago.
4,679 daily cases reported on average this week
Note, however, that the incidence rate goes up very slightly in France, all ages combined, while remaining below the alert threshold of 50. There are 4,899 cases of contamination this Friday, against 6,099 the day before, and 4,734 cases last Saturday. .
4,679 cases have been reported every day on average this week, which equates to a 12% increase in one week.
• 4,899 new positive cases were identified in 24 hours, versus 4,734 last Saturday (but end of reimbursement of tests for all yesterday).
• 4,679 cases are reported every day on average, up + 12% in one week.

The so-called “comfort” PCR and antigen tests are no longer reimbursed since Friday, it is possible that positive people have not been tested.
This slight increase in contamination compared to last week may therefore be due to the lower number of tests carried out.
Public Health France has also recorded 15 deaths in hospital in the last 24 hours, linked to an infection with SARS-CoV-2.
Since the start of the epidemic, 117,260 people have died in France.
