Eleven middle school kids drowned in a river in Indonesia during a school trip.
Another 10 were rescued.
This was reported by some international media.
Rescuers reportedly 150 students from an Islamic school were participating in the cleanup of the river when 21 of them fell into the water.
They were holding hands and the first in line got one foot wrong.
Another 10 were rescued, while the search for the bodies in the Cileueur River, in the province of West Java, is still ongoing.
The incident happened last night: "The weather was good and there was no flash flood," said Deden Ridwansyah, head of the Bandung search and rescue office, according to the Guardian.
"Those children who drowned held hands. One of them slipped and the others followed him."
According to other witnesses, the boys were trying to cross the river when they were carried away by the current.
Immediately after the tragedy, local residents and a rescue team managed to rescue 10 students, who were transported to the nearest hospital.
It seems the boys wore no life jackets.
