A burning car blocked the A24 from Berlin to the north on Sunday.
As a police spokesman said, the car of a driver from Rostock caught fire south of Herzsprung near Neuruppin.
The woman was able to save herself.
Both lanes of the motorway were closed for the extinguishing work at around 2:50 p.m., so that a backlog of up to 20 kilometers in the direction of Hamburg and Rostock built up.
Since the autumn holidays are currently still in Berlin and Brandenburg and they have just started in Saxony, there was heavy traffic, which only returned to normal in the evening.
The car burned out, the amount of damage is still unclear, according to the police.
