(ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 18 - An important milestone for Un posto alsole, the Rai daily drama that has become a phenomenon of costume, which this year celebrates 25 years. The first episode went on air on October 21, 1996. Since then 5,799 episodes have been broadcast; 125 directors have taken turns in 24 years and 8 are those in office for Fremantle and 120 for Rai. These are just a few of the numbers that testify to the imposing authorial and productive machine behind one of the most successful serial products that make Un posto al sole - "UPAS" for the large and ever-growing community of fans - the longest running daily drama in the world. Italian television, followed by an average of about 1.6 million viewers with dishare peaks of 8.5% (relating to the period 1 September-15 October 2021). The series, produced by Rai Fiction,Fremantle, in collaboration with the Rai TV Production Center in Naples, intertwines the classic themes of the daily drama - love, intrigue, revenge, jealousy, friendship - with everyday and social life. Organized crime, drug addiction, violence against women and stalking, bullying, gambling addiction, adoption and childhood, ecology and defense of animal rights are just some of the many issues addressed in these 25 years. A special mention goes to the more than 2000 actors who have alternated among which we remember the "veterans", present since the first seasons: Patrizio Rispo, Marina Tagliaferri, MarzioHonorato, Luisa Amatucci, Germano Bellavia, Claudia Ruffo, Alberto Rossi, Peppe Zarbo, Nina Soldano, Riccardo Polizzy Carbonelli, Michelangelo Tommaso and Maria Giulia Cavalli. Even the guest stars who participated in the various seasons,including Serena Rossi, Cristiana Dell'Anna, Greta Scarano, FabioFulco, Luca Ward and Ninni Bruschetta. Set in Naples in the frame of Palazzo Palladini, the residence that forms the backdrop to the events narrated in the series, Unposto al sole has toured Italy and the world, reaching as far as New York.
