Calder, place Vendôme
Flying Dragon
(1975), the monumental sculpture by Calder (1898-1976), lands on Place Vendôme until January 2, and brings with it a frank dynamic that embodies the force of art and the return to life. .
Poppy red, the enormous sculpture of painted sheet metal seems light because it has only a few points of support on Parisian soil.
It is the emblem of the “Hors les murs” of the Fiac 2021 and announces the opening of the third Gagosian gallery in Paris, under the arcades of the rue de Castiglione, at n 9, next to the jeweler Graff and the Hotel Costes.
The Calder exhibition continues in this new address, a long window, wonderfully located between Place Vendôme, the Tuileries and the Louvre.
One of the two models of
Flying Dragon
, the smaller and black, will be presented there.
