 Italians over 60 are more digital after the pandemic. 60% of Italians over 60 admit to using devices and apps more easily than at the beginning of the pandemic. Video calling, shopping and movie streaming are the most popular services in this age group.


    The data emerges from the international Readly-YouGov survey; "our" over 60s in the lead as regards the digitization of habits.


    Readly, the digital subscription service that allows unlimited access to about 5000 Italian and international magazines through a single app, has investigated in collaboration with YouGov how the digital habits of the over 60s have changed in the last year and a half and what they expect when the pandemic is over.


    60% of Italians over 60 confirm that their lifestyle has become more digital in the months of lockdown.


    In order, "our" over 60s have devoted themselves more in the last year and a half to video calls (34%), online shopping (28%), watching movies in streaming (21%) and reading books, digital magazines and newspapers (19%).


    Furthermore, in this age group, 63% of respondents believe that their lifestyle will continue to be increasingly digital even after Covid. If compared to the responses of respondents in other countries where the survey was carried out, Italians over 60 are by far those who have most "digitized" their habits during the pandemic, compared to 48% of Swedes, 44% of the British, 40% of the Dutch, 38% of the Australians, 39% of the Americans, 25% of the Germans. "The pandemic has brought with it curiosity and knowledge about how the digital world can bring us closer to each other, optimize our well-being and facilitate everyday life. Going out and traveling is what most Italians over 60 - 43% - want after the pandemic. This is followed by dinners with family and friends (20%), participation in events, such as concerts and sporting events (14%), meeting older relatives (4%). (HANDLE).
