Riccobono Imprimeur, the French number one in the printing of national dailies, has just acquired Proximy, the press porting network of the Les Echos-Le Parisien group.

Until now 75% owned by Le Parisien and 25% by Viapost, a subsidiary of La Poste, Proximy is the leading carrier distribution company in Ile-de-France and Oise.
She collaborates with all the national dailies and around forty magazines.
Every day, more than 140,000 copies are delivered.
In addition, the company performs a messaging role with the delivery of 4,000 points of sale on behalf of Le Parisien, the best-selling daily newspaper in the region.

In 2020, Proximy achieved a turnover of 40 million euros and it employs 1,600 people, the majority of whom are carriers.
An industrial group dedicated to paper
For Riccobono, this acquisition concretizes its strategy which aims to constitute an industrial group dedicated to paper.
In addition to its historical activities linked to printing and routing, Riccobono Imprimeurs is now adding distribution, in order to offer publishers a global and lasting offer.
The synergies that will result from this operation are intended to benefit the entire industry, by strengthening the resources devoted to press distribution.
“This project aims to slow down the erosion of print sales of the press and maintain access for the greatest number of readers to quality information.
It will be accompanied by the preservation of employment and measures facilitating the transition, ”
said Riccobono in a press release.
This takeover also falls within the context of reforms to aid for press transport, following the implementation of the recommendations of the Giannesini report.
It aims to create a real incentive for titles to switch to porting.
