In some federal states there are serious changes to the corona rules.
These also affect supermarkets.
Will there be a 2G obligation at Aldi, Rewe, Lidl and other markets?
Munich - recovered or vaccinated - with a view to the corona virus, the so-called 2G rule is a benchmark that now applies in many places - be it partly in bars or clubs, partly in cinemas or other rooms for events.
But two federal states go one step further.
Hesse and Lower Saxony give supermarkets the opportunity to decide whether they only want to buy from people who have been vaccinated against corona or from those who have recovered from the virus.
But what do the supermarkets themselves say about the possibility of the 2G rule when shopping?
Can only vaccinated and convalescent people buy their groceries on site in the future?
Trade association and Aldi on the 2G rule in the supermarket
The trade association is
skeptical about
the

that many supermarkets will rely on 2G.
"It is important that this remains voluntary, because a 2G or 3G obligation when shopping would not be feasible in practice, especially for businesses with high customer frequency, such as food or clothing," said Genth, the general manager of the trade association.
Aldi Nord is also negative about a 2G obligation when shopping.
"Access restrictions to the Aldi Nord stores in the sense of a 2G or 3G regulation are currently not planned," it said in a statement to the
RND
.
"Excluding individual customer groups from purchasing would fundamentally contradict our self-image as a reliable basic supplier."

The discounter Lidl also writes: "We will not introduce 2G regulations in our branches." Do not use the option model in Hessen ”, it says to the

.
The previous regulations in the markets have proven themselves very well in practice.
