A siren and very quickly, the impact.
Amtrak train 822 violently collided with a semi-trailer truck carrying several cars in Oklahoma, stealing vehicles and debris and injuring at least 5 people on board.
The incident occurred Friday, October 15 at around 7 p.m. local time in Thackerville, near the Oklahoma-Texas border.
Minutes before the scheduled passage of the train that runs daily between Fort Worth, Texas, and Oklahoma City, the truck got stuck in the tracks.
“There were a lot of cars on the trailer,” Love County Sheriff Marty Grisham said.
“As the tracks are built a little too high at this level crossing, (…) when he tried to cross, the truck found itself in the middle of the rails, unable to move further.
