After twelve years playing Barney Ross, the head of the special unit of The
Expendables
, the American actor has announced that he is leaving the franchise.
On October 15, October 15, his last day of filming for the fourth installment of The
Expendables
, he shares his “
bittersweet
” feeling
in a video posted on his Instagram account.
"
Today is my last day of shooting ... I'm coming home
", he wrote in the caption.
Facing the camera, shooting studio in the background, Stallone unboxes an unfiltered monologue for almost two minutes.
“This is my last day, so I'm taking advantage of it. [...] This is something that I am so attached to. It has been almost twelve years
”. But Sylvester Stallone leaves the franchise confident: he is
"ready to pass the baton to Jason [Statham], to put it in his expert hands".

Expendables 4
develops its plot around the character of Lee Christmas, the mercenary and right-hand man of Barney Ross, played by Jason Statham. To date, no release date is scheduled for the film. Megan Fox, 50 Cent and Tony Jaa were recently confirmed to the cast.
Sylvester Stallone may be leaving the franchise as an actor, but staying there as a director.
In August, he announced that he was working on a spin-off of The
Expendables
, centered on the character ... of Lee Christmas.
The news was accompanied by a snapshot sporting a tattoo of Barney Ross.

The working title is Christmas Story.
