(ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 19 - About 500 Whirlpool and Elica workers have reached the Ministry of Economic Development incorteo from Termini Station. "Naples and Ancona united in the fight, We will never give up," shout the workers once again and invoke the names of the ministers Orlando and Giorgetti from whom today they hope to obtain concrete answers. "They told us that they would illustrate an extraordinary measure capable of transporting these workers from Whirlpool to the Consortium. Nowadays we are waiting for the seriousness from these governments and to explain to us how we can continue. We do not give up, we will never give up", comments Barbara Tibaldi, secretary national Fiom-Cgil. In the meantime, yesterday, in a unitary press release, Fim-Fiom-Uilm, they announced a national event for Whirlpool on October 29 in Varese, supported by an 8-hour strike in all plants. Among other actions taken, hold assemblies at each site to update workers and schedule strike action in each plant. The trade unions want to know as soon as possible in detail the industrial plan and the Government's commitment to set up the Consortium by 15 December. The future of the 340 workers at the Naples site is at stake. "That is a defense of lawfulness as well as a job for these 340 workers - underlines Tibaldi - is it ever possible that you cannot find a solution?"
