Find out here where this ingeniously delicious apple cake got its name and how you can easily bake the recipe yourself.
Invisible apple cake
originally comes from France and is called
Gâteau Invisible aux Pommes there
.
But you can see the cake?
In fact, the apple cake is of course not really invisible, but the fine apple slices are practically inconspicuous between the layers of dough.
This creates the impression of a normal, boring box cake and as a surprise there is a delicious apple taste explosion when you try it, because it contains so much juicy fruit.
Basically, the cake recipe is a
crustless apple cake
- and who can resist that?

How to bake the invisible apple pie without a bottom
For the crumble
mix the flour, sugar and cold butter in pieces in a bowl and rub everything with your fingers to make the crumble.
Mix in the almonds and refrigerate until ready to use.
Preheat the oven to 180 ° C.
Grease a loaf pan with butter and line the pan with baking paper.
This will make it easier for you to lift the cake out of the pan later.
For the dough,
beat the eggs with the sugar in a bowl until frothy.
Stir in the flour and cinnamon.
Then add the milk and melted butter and stir in.
Set the dough aside.
Peel, quarter and core the apples.
Cut them into very thin slices and place them in the bowl with the batter.
The apple slices should be completely covered with batter.
Now layer the individual slices evenly in the prepared baking pan.
Finally, spread the crumble on top and bake the apple pie in the oven for 40-45 minutes.
If it gets too dark on top, cover it with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
Take the finished, invisible apple pie out of the oven and let it cool down completely.
Then put it in the refrigerator for about 2 hours, then it can be cut easily.
If you like, dust the finished apple cake with powdered sugar.
