A stag in heat attacked a man in Baden-Württemberg and seriously injured him.
The 64-year-old was found in a game reserve in the biosphere area of a former military training area in Münsingen, as the police in Reutlingen announced.
How the man could get into the several meters high fenced and warned area on Monday afternoon is unclear.
Workers had alerted the police after hearing calls for help from the enclosure.
These could still be heard when the officers arrived, but the emergency services could not enter the enclosure because the raging stag was "raging" there.
He tried to attack the police through the fence.
Accordingly, fresh blood could be seen on the antlers, so that the emergency services assumed an acute danger to life for the man.
According to the investigators, it was not possible to enter the enclosure safely, so the deer was shot.
After a search, the 64-year-old was found.
A rescue helicopter took him to a hospital.
