(ANSA-AFP) - LONDON, OCTOBER 19 - Meghan Markle's father has begged his daughter and son-in-law, Prince Harry, to let him see his nephews, Archie and Lilibet, whom he has never met yet, inviting the Dukes of Sussex to reconciliation but at the same time accusing them of "thinking only of money".

"We should both grow up a little bit, talk to each other, reconcile, for the sake of the children and for ourselves," said Thomas Markle, 77, speaking to British channel ITV's Good Morning Britain program.

Of his grandchildren Archie, 2, and Lilibet, 4 months, ThomasMarkle said they "have two loving families and their great-grandmother is the Queen of England." "They will grow up and want to know more", added the former lighting technician of the American TV who lives in Rosarito.in Mexico.

Meghan Markle separated from her father before her wedding in May 2018. Thomas Markle never met Prince Harry or his grandchildren.

In the interview, he claims that Meghan wanted him to stop talking to her step-sister and step-brother, "and I couldn't."

"It hasn't been like this before. Since she's been with Harry, she's changed," he added.

Thomas Markle then criticized the couple accusing them of "only caring about money", referring to the different contracts for documentaries or podcasts signed by the Dukes of Sussex after they became financially independent from the British royal family.
