A preview of some sequences of Outside Night (ANSA) at the Rome Festival Marco Bellocchio, 82, does not disappoint. In his 'Encounter Close' at the 16th edition of the Rome Film Fest, he not only talks about himself, but also shows a world preview of some rather shocking, as well as beautiful, scenes of ESTERNO NOTTE, the TV series on the kidnapping of Aldo Moro, with Fabrizio Gifuni in the role of the statesman. Marco Bellocchio, 82, does not disappoint. Above all, the one that takes place in a hospital completely armored by the police and full of politicians is striking. Here appears a revived Aldo Moro, albeit in bed and with a long beard, who receives visits from Andreotti, Cossiga and Zaccagnini and who expresses in front of everyone his gratitude for the Red Brigades who freed him, while accusing the Christian Democrats : "I feel incompatibility with the party, I renounce all positions and above all I resign from the DC".At the bedside also an Andreotti who, when asked if it should be told to Pope Paul VI, replies "Better not to say anything to His Holiness". Among the other scenes there is also a meeting between Paul VI (played by Toni Servillo) and Moro on a topic that perhaps underlies the tragedy of the Christian Democrat politician. Moro tries to convince the Pope of the opportunity to have the support of the PCI. To the peaceful remonstrances of the Pontiff, the statesman replies by explaining that it is not an alliance with the PCI, but only of external support, but the Pope does not seem to be very convinced. Finally, there is also a scene of clashes dated March 12, 1978, four days before Moro's kidnapping, in which a left-wing group clashes with the police in Piazza del Gesù, then the headquarters of the DC, while Moro watches the scene thoughtfully. "It is the first time in a series and I say, perhaps with a gloomy joke, that having a certain age it is perhaps the first and last time "underlines Bellocchio with irony before showing the sequences." The idea came to me on occasion of the 40th anniversary of Moro's death, when I saw a photo of him in double-breasted at the sea on the beach of Torvaianica, with his daughter instead in costume. In my film BUONGIORNO NOTTE the perspective was all from inside the prison, this time instead I tell the characters who were outside that same prison ". As for the vision of Moro free," it is not the first time this happens I have already walk right in GOOD MORNING NIGHT, when Roberto Herlitzka dressed them in the role of Moro. "Fuori Notte is a Rai series produced by Lorenzo Mieli for The Apartment, company of the Fremantle group, with Simone Gattoni for Kavac Film in co-production with Arte France, in collaboration with Rai Fiction. In the cast, alongside Fabrizio Gifuni and Toni Servillo, also Margherita Buy, Fausto Russo Alesi, Gabriel Montesi and Daniela Marra. The series is written by Marco Bellocchio, Stefano Bises, Ludovica Rampoldi, Davide Serino. The international distributor is Fremantle.
