US rap mogul Kanye West is now officially called Ye.
A judge in Los Angeles granted the 44-year-old Grammy winner's request for a name change, the court confirmed to the AFP news agency on Monday.
The rapper, music producer and fashion entrepreneur submitted the application in August and gave "personal reasons".
Kanye Omari West has been using the last two letters of his first name as a nickname for a long time.
In 2018 he released an album entitled »Ye«.
“I think 'ye' is the most common word used in the Bible, and in the Bible it means 'you,'” he said in a radio interview at the time.
"From Kanye, which means the only one, I just became Ye, a reflection of our good, our bad, our confused, our everything."
West is considered one of the most prominent rappers, singers, producers, designers, and artists in the world.
He last released a two-hour album entitled "Donda" in August, named after his mother, who died in 2007.

West had previously made headlines with his private life: In February, his wife Kim Kardashian filed for divorce seven years after the wedding in Florence.
Appearances made plenty of headlines
Although the couple often appeared together and both often publicly affirmed their love, the relationship had long been considered conflicting.
US media had already reported the couple's breakup in early January.
The couple's appearances, whether at gala evenings or Instagram photos, were almost always carefully staged - and not least part of a business model: Kardashian increased her fame in the show "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," in which she and her family took part granted insights into her private life between 2007 and 2020.
West also caused a stir last year when he ran for the US presidential election, but ultimately received hardly any votes.
