(ANSA) - TOKYO, OCTOBER 19 - The Tokyo Stock Exchange starts trading with a plus sign, despite the mixed closure of US stock markets, with investors looking to the start of the quarterly season and the start of the election campaign in Japan.
The Nikkei benchmark index marks a 0.30% progress at 29,113.11, adding 87 points.
On the currency front, the weakening phase of the yen on the dollar continues, at 114.20, and on the euro at a value of 132.80.
