Facebook plans to renew the brand with a new name

The Facebook company, under the beacon of regulators and lawmakers for its business practices, is planning to revamp itself with a new name that focuses on the metaverse, the technology platform of the future for which it is also investing in Europe.

The Verge website reports it, the news could also be made official next week.

At the basis of the decision, in addition to the Antitrust beacon, the desire to build an image also focused on other products such as Instagram, WhatsApp and Oculus.

A choice that Google already made in 2015 when the Alphabet holding was born, which includes the various souls of the company. 

According to the rumors of The Verge website, which are based on what was communicated by a well-informed source, the change of name in the brand aims for the tech giant to be known for more than social media and all the problems that he dragged on. The rebrand - explains the newspaper - "would probably position the blue Facebook app as one of the many products of a parent company that oversees groups such as Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus and others". At the moment, as reported by The Verge, Facebook has not commented. In recent weeks, the company has returned to the limelight due to the revelations of the former employee Frances Haugen which sparked a serial investigation in the Wall Styreet Journal; but also for the announcement ofinvestment in Europe in the metaverse that defined the technological platform of the future, for which 10,000 new jobs are expected.
