At 83 years old, the man who took the name of his Saxony village, Deutschbaselitz, as a pseudonym in 1961, is disconcerting in his frankness and knowledge.

The Center Pompidou is dedicating a beautiful retrospective to him, until March 7, 2022. On October 27, the Academy of Fine Arts will solemnly welcome him in the chair of Polish filmmaker Andrzej Wajda (1926-2016).
