(ANSA) - BERLIN, OCTOBER 20 - There will be a woman in the presidency of the German Bundestag for the next legislature: it is the Social Democrat Baerbel Bas, deputy parliamentary leader of the party of Olaf Scholz.
This was announced by the Dpa.
Baerbel Bas was proposed by Rolf Muetzenick, the leader of the group in pole position for the role in recent days, who succumbed to the pressure of the women of the party, exercised so that a woman would succeed Wolfgang Schaeuble.
It was thus intended to prevent the main offices of Germany, which in the future will have a chancellor, from being all represented by men.
Baerbel Bas, 53, will be voted on by the Bundestag, in its first session, scheduled for next Tuesday.
