(ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 21 - Pietro Genovese, the twenty-year-old Roman who on the night of December 21, 2019, hit and killed two 16-year-old girls in the Corso Francia area is back in freedom.
The judges of the Court of Appeal of Rome have ordered this as the law provides for the final judgments.
The young man, who was burdened with the measure of the residence obligation, must now await the decision of the Supervisory Court which will have to decide on how to serve the remaining sentence, about 3 years and 7 months.
On July 8, Genovese agreed on a final sentence of 5 years and four months on appeal.
He is accused of multiple road homicide.
