GDR comparison by Mathias Döpfner: He's the last and only one in Germany

Back in the GDR? Yes! Why it took Mathias Döpfner so that we can finally face the truth.

You just have to be able to say thank you.

These thanks go to Mathias Döpfner, who has now paved the way for me to feel patronized, tamed, monitored and spied on.

That I can finally bring this diffuse feeling of being afraid of state repression in thinking, acting, even feeling in anticipatory obedience to cut myself into harmony with reality.

Yes it is.

No, I am not crazy.

The fact is: the state controls me.

Freedom is no longer worth anything.

My neighbors are eyeing me.

Block dwelling.

The media are synchronized.

All?

No, one brave journalist held the position until recently.

But that too has now been canceled.

Julian Reichelt was fired as "Bild" boss because he abused his power.

He was the last one to defend my freedom.

The truth is: since Reichelt left (yesterday) everyone has to expect the Stasi to knock on the door.

Just to clarify once again what this is about: In the course of the entire Reichelt story, this sentence by Springer boss Matthias Döpfner about that Reichelt appeared, which you could not believe the first time you read it, and not the second, because that What was there, you thought yourself for a long time, but you just didn't dare to say it. "He's really the last and only journalist in Germany who still bravely revolted against the new GDR government."

Well, it's not as if this indisputable truth, which everyone should actually see, has never been uttered in this way. But only now, through the ennoblement of Döpfner, does the GDR comparison unfold its full epistemic force. Because, as we know, it depends at least as much on who says something under what circumstances, how what someone says. Keyword: speaker position.

You have seen this coming for a long time, you knew that something ominous was brewing. Since you weren't allowed to say anything bad about refugees without being branded, which is why never a single representative of the AfD was invited to any talk show. Which ones too? Not a single editorial staff dared to even make the problem of refugees and Islam an issue. Only at that time the GDR comparison came from these somewhat unsavory Pegida-Lutz-Bachmann people, and as much as you wanted to agree with them, you didn't want to be near them. In addition, many of these people actually came from the former GDR, which in turn disqualified them. What did they know!

But because everything turned out much worse, the spirit of submission and the compulsion to conform became wider and wider, thank God more serious public figures woke up.

Jan Josef Liefers finally criticized the corona policy with the necessary historical expertise. Liefers reacted to the criticism of his # all-sealing-making videos: »I grew up in the GDR - I grew up with the fact that there is wind when you talk about politics and society. In the GDR I would probably have been jailed for such a video. But what we're experiencing here isn't nice either. «Well, finally someone says it! Unfortunately there were two problems here as well. First of all, Liefers somehow only half-heartedly put his GDR comparison into position, as if he still had residual doubts. We all know that they are totally overrated. And secondly, it comes from the east too! So he found out for himself what he was talking about, which is usually rather bad.The knowledge lies in the distance.

He's the last and only one who's still missing

A Hans-Georg Maassen was more likely to be trusted than a delivery man.

Because although he suspiciously tried to be elected to the Bundestag in an eastern German state, it is undisputed that he himself does not come from the east, but from the west.

And so it was much more convincing when he called the newspaper »NZZ« »Westfernsehen«.

In addition, it was to be assumed that Maassen, as a former chief constitutional protection officer, would recognize like no other that we have long been living in an authoritarian state, including surveillance by the state security.

If we live in a kind of GDR, then Maaßen would be the best key witness for it: he would have been a kind of Mielke.

However, even after Maassen's warning, this knowledge did not really seep into the public consciousness.

He was already too much denigrated by the mainstream press, too much he was completely unjustly reviled as a weirdo.

But now, with Mathias Döpfner, everything is different.

Only now has the historical knowledge fully reached the West, in the executive suite, in the elite, only now can one say: If he says it, then it is also true.

Mathias Döpfner, 2-meter-west embodiment, recognized what had to be recognized.

The GDR comparison had threatened to become a hollow topos, but now I can serve it too, publicly, loudly, openly.

I can give space to my vague gut feeling that something is going wrong.

The most powerful media manager in Germany, who sometimes even appears in American newspapers, says what is.

You have to put it this way: Matthias Döpfner is really the last and only one in Germany who was still missing this comparison.

Wait a minute, there is a knock.

Damned.

Oh, not the Stasi.

Just a delivery service.
