Google officially revealed the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro at its Pixel Fall Launch event last night. Both models are available for pre-order in selected markets, while they will arrive in Italy in early 2020. In addition to the design, which had already been confirmed by Google itself in recent weeks, the focus is on the power of the Tensor processor, produced internally by the US giant. The chip relies much of its work on artificial intelligence and machine learning. It powers a host of AI software, including Magic Eraser, a Photoshop-style app that removes "unwanted people and objects" with a tap and swipe. It works with all photos, both those just taken and files already stored on the phone, also taken from the Google Photos service.
Tensor also allows translation in real time, and also offline, in 55 languages, including Italian. The interesting aspect is that the passage from the text written in one's own language to the desired one can take place in Google applications and in those of third parties, such as WhatsApp. Last, but not least, Google says the Pixel 6 is equipped with an AI-powered feature called "Glance," which automatically displays apps and information the user might need. The Pixel 6 has a 6.4-inch 90Hz refresh rate screen, 50 megapixel + 12MP camera and 8MP selfie camera. The Pixel 6 Pro has a larger, curved 6.7 ;; inch display and 120Hz refresh rate. It features the same main 50MP and 12MP ultrawide cameras, plus a 48MP telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom and an 11MP selfie camera. The Pixel 6 128/8 GB costs 649 euros in the European markets of the first launch, while the 128/12 GB Pro starts at 999 euros.
