(ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 21 - The Vatican announced in a note that it had "launched a reorganization plan" to "resolve the economic and managerial crises in which the 'San Giovanni Calibita-Fatebenefratelli' Hospital on the Tiberina island of Rome".
The plan, according to the bulletin of the Holy See, aims to allow the structure "to continue playing the role that has so far characterized it in the sphere of Catholic health care". The decision follows the words of Pope Francis during the Angelus of last July 11 from the Polyclinic Gemelli in Rome, where he was hospitalized, in which he had placed the accent "on the duty of service of the Church in Sanity".
"On this occasion - concludes the note from the Holy See - I would like to express our due thanks to the SanDonato Group, in the persons of the Vice-Presidents Paolo Rotelli and KamelGhribi and the Chief Executive Officer Francesco Giosuè Galli, for the intervention agreed with the Generalate of the Hospital Order of San Giovanni di Dio (Fatebenefratelli), intended to avoid a further worsening of the current crisis and to find a definitive solution to it ".
