At the conference 'Sustainable infrastructures: a common good' organized by Intesa SanPaolo, ministers Giovannini and Carfagna (ANSA)

Italy on infrastructures is suffering from "delays", of which "we must take note": "in the last 20 years there has been a very significant delay in investments, from 2009 to 2018 public investments fell by 34% from 58 to 38 billion investments. And all this has repercussions on the growth of the country ". This was stated by

Gaetano Miccichè, chairman of the IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division of Intesa SanPaolo

, at the conference 'Sustainable infrastructures: a common good'. "We must give ourselves priorities", he added, "now we are facing a very demanding period that we hope will be very rosy".

"Anyone who knows me knows how much I have fought over words: today we are no longer talking about infrastructure, but we are talking about sustainable infrastructures. We can no longer talk only about infrastructures: they are either sustainable or they are not. This is a very strong cultural choice, perfectly coherent. with the change of name I wanted to give to the ministry ". Thus the

Minister of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility Enrico Giovannini

speaking at the conference organized by Intesa Sanpaolo at Villa Aurelia, in Rome. "We can no longer afford unsustainable development just as we can no longer afford unsustainable infrastructures".

In his speech

Alessandro Rivera, director general of the Treasury

, argued that "the tax reform is not a structuring part of the NRP but it is a connected and parallel path. It is certainly an essential reform among the structural ones, one of the elements on which it is necessary take action to make our country more dynamic. There is evidence that the current tax system is an obstacle to sustainable economic growth ". Rivera recalled among the critical points the fact that there is "a high implicit tax rate on labor, there are effective marginal rates too above the average, and then the complexity of the Italian tax system determined by a stratification of rules. On this - he remembered - the cdm has recently intervened with a delegation bill ".

"We have a serious, industrial problem. We lack 100,000 people. Doing the NRR means having 100,000 people ready to work. officials in the public administration ", said

Pietro Salini, CEO of WeBuild.

"We foresee that in the next 10 years we should work as FS on investment rates of 10-12 billion a year. It is a big leap, within these investments there are not only the works but trains, technology, maintenance; it is a great challenge that also in our house it presupposes an acceleration and the development of skills ", said

the CEO.

by Fs Luigi Ferraris

at the conference organized by Intesa Sanpaolo.

Speaking at the conference,

the Minister for the South and Territorial Cohesion, Mara Carfagna

, argued that "the PNRR represents an important paradigm shift. We are building the conditions to make Southern Italy a new fertile ground for investments, a natural habitat favorable to business activity, which companies choose to create value and work, knowing they can count on two great resources: an efficient and modern logistics network and an allied state ".
