The Italian Cheli at the head of the ESA Earth observation programs

(ANSA) - MILAN, OCTOBER 21 - The Italian Simonetta Cheli has been appointed Director of the Earth Observation Programs of the European Space Agency (ESA): from 1 January 2022 she will lead the Esrin center in Frascati, succeeding JosefAschbacher, who has become Director General of the ESA in March 2021.

   The appointment came during the 300th ESA Council in Paris.
