In an argument over a cat in his garden, a 58-year-old man in the US state of Florida apparently shot his 41-year-old neighbor.
This was announced by the Marion County police.
The alleged perpetrator was angry because a cat, which apparently belonged to the neighbor, ran through his garden.
He picked up a gun, went over to his neighbor and threatened to shoot the cat, it said.
Police report arrest
The 41-year-old asked the man not to shoot the cat.
He then shot his neighbor.
The victim was shot at least once in the chest, it said.
At the time of the crime, a woman is said to have been in the house to testify to what had happened.
The suspect was arrested, the police said.
He is accused of "second degree murder"
