?

no later than three months before the annuity starting
," advised the pension experts from Stiftung Warentest.
You need all of this for your pension application:
Identity card
pension insurance number
Address of your health insurance company and your insurance number
Account data (Iban) of the account to which the pension is to flow
Tax identification number
"Depending on the type of pension, additional evidence may be required, such as your severely handicapped ID card for the old-age pension for severely handicapped people," says

The experts explain the procedure in five steps as follows:
1. Clarify your retirement account:
“Gaps can cost a pension. Therefore, all information about the calculation of the pension must be with the pension insurance before the application “, writes the portal. At least six months before you want to retire, you should use your
insurance history to
check whether all relevant times have been recorded. Regardless of whether it is a
regular old-age pension
or, for example, an

Good to know: From the age of 55, you get your insurance history "automatically every three years".
However, if you wish, you can have a current version sent to you at any time, so the experts' tip.

2. Get a pension application:
On the homepage of the German Pension Insurance, for example, you can find the pension application form R0100.

Submitting a pension application:
The advantage of being early enough with the application - i.e. at least three months before the desired start of retirement: The pension insurance has enough time to obtain further evidence if necessary, for example from the health insurance company or the employer. 4. Submit a pension application:
The application is then sent to the pension insurance. Alternative: "If you do not put it online, send it to your local pension office," writes

5. Check the pension notification:
If there are reasonable doubts about the pension notification, for example because times were not taken into account, insured persons should object, the experts advise.
An application is free of charge and can be submitted informally to the relevant pension insurance agency.

The reason for the objection could be submitted later.
According to the council, insured persons should announce this in their first letter.
The usual period is one month.
Insured persons who live abroad have up to three months.
